Happpy New Year!

We had a fun New Year's party with some friends and neighbors. We figured with our basement done and two kids who need their own bed to go to sleep before midnight, we should host a party at our house. We played games, made noise, and had kids running around past midnight. It was great. Coleson on the other hand did not have a pleasant night. He helped me all day buy snacks, decorate, pick out glow bracelets, horns, make 2010 glasses, and get the kids movies all ready. When people started to arrive he started rubbing his eyes. We washed them out, thinking something got in his eyes. He played for a little bit, even wrestled and played chase. Then he just wanted to watch a movie-not too unusual behavior. Then he just wanted to lie on the couch-pretty unusual, especially with many kids running around. I looked at his eyes and they were kind of swollen and red and he asked to go to bed-by now it was 10:30-even Brynn and Ammon hadn't gone to bed yet. So the party continued without him. Our guests started noticing his absence and I explained the situation. Someone mentioned pink-eye. We haven't experienced pink-eye with our kids yet so I had not even thought of that. New Year's day I took him to the doctor and left with 2 perscriptions-Double ear infections, Double Pink-eye--Happy New Year!!! I really hope this isn't a foreshadowing of our year to come. And yes I did contact everyone to let them know we had just helped to start a neighborhood epidemic of pink-eye--now you know how "everyone in the neighborhood" can get sick. Weeks later I have not heard of anyone getting pink eye from us-happy new year.
